I have grown to be a regular here. I have a love for sushi, regularly driving past multiple locations throughout the capital district on my way home before stopping here for dinner. Sakebon II offers consistent quality for a reasonable price. Note the sushi is my goto but I’ve also done the hibachi and found it exceptional ans well. While the food and atmosphere are already home runs what truly sets this restaurant apart is Susan and her team. They deliver the hospitality you would think obsolete in the modern era. Over the course of multiple visits I’ve observed the recognition of many customers greater by name usually with an inside joke or personal insight. If you’re looking for a good meal and a comfortable welcoming environment I can not recommend Sakebon II highly enough.

Typical Japanese restaurant own by Chinese. But food was good. We had Thai frid rice and tempura set and unagi rolls. It was good but hope they use little more fish sauce for thai fridge rice. Other than tha. Food was good. Fast and kind.

What a great treat! Stopped by here with the family a few weeks back and had a great dining experience. So we decided to pop in again, and they didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is welcoming, they have a hibachi grill "Ting Ting Flip" room for parties, a sushi bar, and a nice dining area. It's all a great use of space for a restaurant that isn't necessarily huge, but also does not feel cramped. There's mild background music playing, so you never feel awkward between chats. And the lighting is just right, without being too dim or annoyingly bright. I started with Crab Rangoons and a California Roll. The rangoons were crispy and delicious. The California roll was fresh and hit the spot. But the Basil Chicken really blew me away tonight. It came with a mushroom broth soup which was yummy and a simple Japanese salad with a delicious sesame dressing ~ perfect for that umami craving. The main course Basil Chicken was packed with vegetables, perfectly cooked chicken, and although it was mild, had a nice kick to it. On display mushrooms, red and green peppers, onion, eggplant, broccoli, and asparagus. Really a full serving of all the good vegetables you need! The basil was not overpoweri

Although I rated food service and atmospheres of five and my overall rating was a four I feel I need to explain. I just thought that the hibachi "show"was a little slow. But that being my only complaint I feel really blessed. And what really mattered was the fact that we were there celebrating my brother's birthday, and he was very pleased!

This is THE place in Rotterdam for sushi! I’ve gone to a few other restaurants for sushi in the area, but this by far takes title of the best. Service is always fast and top notch. For a regular dine in experience for 3, probably there for about 40 minutes. I have only ever done regular dining here, so I cannot comment on the hibachi. Ordered an appetizer and 3 sushi rolls for about $25 per person. Prices are going rate compared to other local places. Not competitively low, but much worth it. Overall recommend coming to this place for sushi. I’ve only ever ordered that here, but why both with anything else. Menu is easy to read and understand so no mistake on what exactly you’re getting. Very appropriate sizing for the prices.
